Resistance reinforces what you avoid
When something enters your consciousness but is not accepted, processed and given a place, it does not disappear. Instead, it remains hidden in the subconscious, waiting to resurface.
Emotions often act as triggers. A feeling arises that then triggers the same recurring thoughts associated with it. The more often you resist it, the deeper these patterns become embedded in the subconscious - reinforcing what you wanted to avoid in the first place.
The Danger of Suppression
Take the example of anger. A person who thinks anger is negative or inappropriate may choose to suppress it rather than express it. While this may seem effective in the short term, the anger does not disappear - it builds up.
Over time, the “bucket fills” until a minor incident causes an explosion. What appears to be an What seems like an extreme, disproportionate reaction is often the result of years of suppressed feelings finally breaking through.
Accepting All Emotions

Both negative and positive emotions must be accepted, observed, and expressed in healthy ways. When emotions are acknowledged, they lose their destructive potential. But if they are denied, they can darken our inner world like clouds covering the sky.
Unprocessed emotions - even small ones - can grow into destructive forces if ignored for too long. By becoming aware of this, we stop resisting and instead give our inner life the space it needs.
Awareness as the Key
The real goal is awareness: understanding how we are put together and how our emotions shape us. When you acknowledge your feelings and honestly meet your needs, life becomes lighter, brighter and easier to bear.
